Boy, have I got a book for you! The Great Halifax Explosion by John U. Bacon is the best book I have read in a long time. It is non-fiction and we all know I don’t read much non-fiction reader, but the book grabbed me from the beginning . It’s the story of the town and the victims of the explosion – over 11,000 people were injured or killed. I don’t even know how to describe it, but wow, I loved it.
A couple of other new books: Midnight Line by Lee Child; Rooster Bar by John Grisham, Origin by Dan Brown, Thomas Kinkade’s Cape Light Christmas; Column of fire by Ken Follett; Fairytale by Danielle Steel ; Crimes of the Father by Thomas Keneally; Grant by Ron Chernow, and Irish Country Practice by Patrick Taylor. Okay so that was more than a few, but I just thought you might bei nterested in what’s coming in. There are several more coming in the weeks ahead that should be good reads.
You can always suggest a book for purchase. Not saying we can buy every book that is suggested, but it never hurts to ask.
